How the Lamella Clarifier Works

The operating principle of the Lamella Clarifier is based on advanced inclined plate sedimentation technology. Wastewater enters the clarification zone after coagulation and flocculation, where suspended solids are converted into larger, heavier flocs.

As the water flows upward between a series of closely spaced inclined plates positioned at an optimized angle, the flow velocity decreases substantially. Suspended particles settle onto the surfaces of the plates and slide downward into the sludge hopper under the force of gravity. The clarified water continues to rise and is discharged through the overflow outlet, while the accumulated sludge is periodically removed for further dewatering or disposal.
