The LINZHEN MBR/MBBR Integrated Packaged Wastewater Treatment Plant is a factory-built, skid-mounted system engineered for industrial sewage, municipal wastewater, river water purification, and reclaimed water reuse. Designed by Qingdao Linzhen Environmental Engineering Co., Ltd. and built in a 36,000 m² manufacturing facility in Shandong, China, this system combines Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) biological treatment with Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) / advanced tertiary filtration technology to deliver stable, high-quality effluent in a compact, plug-and-play configuration.

Each unit is shipped as a fully integrated, containerized package with a separate control room, blower room, and built-in process tanks. The one-touch start/stop PLC system enables automatic operation from day one, reducing on-site labor and commissioning time. The carbon steel or stainless steel tank shell is sandblasted and coated with a triple-layer protective system — zinc-rich primer, intermediate epoxy, and top coat — ensuring strong adhesion, excellent rust resistance, and long service life even in harsh environments.

How the System Works

The LINZHEN MBR/MBBR treatment plant follows a multi-stage, continuous-flow process designed to handle high organic loads, suspended solids, and fluctuating influent quality:

1. Preliminary Treatment & Equalization

Raw wastewater is first screened to remove large particles, plastics, fibers, and grit. It then enters an equalization tank to balance hydraulic and pollutant load fluctuations, protecting downstream biological stages from shock.

2. Dual-Stage MBBR Biological Treatment

The wastewater enters MBBR Tank 1 and MBBR Tank 2, where high-surface-area biofilm carriers are suspended in the mixed liquor. Under aeration, microorganisms attach to these carriers and form a dense biofilm. This dual-stage design efficiently degrades organic pollutants and reduces COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand), and ammonia nitrogen. Because the MBBR process combines suspended and attached growth, it offers strong resistance to shock loads and a significantly reduced risk of sludge bulking compared to conventional activated sludge systems.

3. Lamella Sedimentation & Solids Separation

After biological treatment, the flow passes through a lamella settler that separates suspended solids and biomass from the treated water. Collected sludge is routed to a dedicated sludge tank for further dewatering or disposal.

4. Tertiary Filtration & Disinfection

The treated water is collected and pumped through a pressure sand filter (PSF) and activated carbon filter (ACF) to remove residual suspended solids, odors, and trace organics. A final UV disinfection unit ensures the effluent meets microbiological standards. The clean water is then stored for discharge, irrigation, industrial reuse, or environmental restoration.

  • Primary Sedimentation Tank — removes settleable solids and grit
